Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Purple Peony Yellow

Purple peony yellow, painted with evident care, anchors this silk hanging scroll. It leads with delicate peony, then lets the gaze wander. For collectors of chinese flower and bird painting, peony in bloom alone makes this scroll worth a look.

Handled with a lively palette, the scene stays close to nature. Two details: sprays of purple peony, and sprays of yellow peony. The purple peony is a symbol of wealth and honor. Calligraphy along the margin lends a contemplative touch. A hanging scroll like this needs only a nail and a good wall. Tones are mellow, the way good scrolls tend to be. The artistry is quiet, but it is unmistakably there.

Among asian wall art scroll, this purple peony yellow example stands out for its quiet charm. Place it beside your other chinese art wall decor; delicate purple peony rewards the comparison. It brings the outside in, in the most refined way. A meaningful gift for students of Chinese language or culture.
